LOVED the show! Way beyond my expectations. Betty was really on her game tonight too. I was surprised at how every song, regardless that they were unfamiliar, held my attention. Betty is so professional and charming.
Lots of celebs too: Nanette Fabray, Pat Harrington Jr., Nancy Dusseault w/ her gorgeous hubby Val Meyer, Brad Ellis of Forbidden Broadway fame, Eydie Alyson...the singer... Totally fun!

While watching this 88 years-young non-surgical beauty you get a sense that she has lived life to the hilt - appreciating friends and family through her thoughtfully written lyrics. Her movements give more than a hint of the great dancer that she was in her MGM musicals. What a treat!!
The cast of 8 communicate the longing, insight and humor of her songs. Lee Meriwether is riveting as she acted and sang out the lyrics with nuance and sparkling eyes.
One of the most touching songs I've heard in a long time, "Remember Me," is dedicated to her granddaughter - the lovely music written by her son Garrett Parks with her lyrics truly pulled at my heart.
Her exuberance is infectious - Garrett is a real treasure!

If you've never had the privilege of seeing Betty Garrett, a class act for six decades and still going--if not quite as strong as before--with charm, verve, and talent intact, go see her right now. When her kind is gone, we're stuck with the Britneys.

Everybody who loves theatre should see Betty Garrett's show at Theatre West... Wonderfully warm and glowing...and with a stellar cast of supporting characters that are stars in their own rights.
Go see it. It's wonderful.
