This is a coffeehouse in a Von's grocery store shopping center not far from the County Government Center. Here, you'll find the usual numerous energizing array of caffeine beverages, and there's munchies as well. On most nights of the week Latte 101 offers music, mostly of the low-budget persuasion. There's no stage, no p.a., no mics, nothing -- just artists standing against the wall engaged in mortal combat with the ever-present whirr of the cappuccino machine.

The younger crowd chats at tables or plays chess while the musicians play. Most of the artists are singer/songwriter folkie types such as Tom Kwake, Mike Power and John Wisda. Youngster Ryan Sullivan plays acoustic classical guitar. -- Bill Locey

Thank god for the little guys! You never know what to expect from a little place.Wow.Great Mocha! Smooth!A very warm and inviting atmosphere.I sat for a little while in one of the big overstuffed chairs and read my book. The staff was courteous and friendly as I would expect .There is a place to plug in my laptop.I didn't try the pastries. But, they did look good.Smoking happens at most coffeehouses.I can deal with it.I don't know when I'll go back there, but,I will definatly be back.

They allow customers to smoke right next to the front door - which of course makes everything smell like smoke. We purchased a rice crispy treat for about $2. It tasted like buttery grease so I brought it back to the counter. The employee refused a refund or to swap it for something else. She said she was told by the owner to never allow returns of their snacks because they are brought in by a third party. I would think that they would stand behind anything they sell, if they made it or not.
