sucks beverly hills, CA

This restaurant sucks for the price and quality. I came away hungry despite dropping 60 bucks on a measly butter mushrooms and tomatoes as a side in foil. The service is rude and they don't cook anything..i should know. my gf used to work there!

You haters need to get your facts straight. Gyu-Kaku never says they are korean. they have a big sign that says japanese bbq. Rice is originally thought to have come from indonesia or china, but now it is enjoyed by all asians. Like rice, "korean bbq" spread throughout Asia, and in Japan it is called Yakiniku. It is similar and inspired by korean bbq, but it is japanese. so if you are looking for authentic Korean bbq will not find it at Gyu-Kaku, because Gyu-Kaku is Japanese.

Tom, KIMCHI IS KOREAN. Get your facts straight and to suggest that kimchi is Japanese is crazy! In fact, Gyu-Kaku's servers don't know what they're talking about. This place is too expensive and its too small for the price.

My friend from Chicago loved it. All the food and service were excellent. Their Kimchi was good, as Kimchi was originally intorduced to Korea by Japanese back in 16AD. And also their Hibachi grill was great, fun, and smokeless. I told my friend that Hibachi grill style BBQ is invented by Japanese, and later introduced to Korea.

Uh...I care if it's Korean because they are passing it off as Korean. I asked the waiter and I asked if kimchi was Korean. He said it was Japanese. I said it wasn't and that the Japanese are coping everything that's Korean and passing it off as their own. I got up and walked out. NEVER AGAIN!!

TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE BAD SERVICE. FOOD IS GOOD WHEN YOU'RE REALLY HUNGRY BUT NOT AUTHENTIC AT ALL. EMPLOYEES ARE NOT ACCOMODATING AT ALL AND THEY DON'T CLEAN THE TABLES AND SERVICE SUCKS!

Luuuuved the food! No question the best restaurant I've been to in LA. It's not typically korean, but who cares?!?!? But you have got to have their meat sihes, the fish ones are just so-so. Service could use a lot of work!

NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL...if you like eating inauthentic Korean food, you should come here, especially if you like food passing itself off as Korean. Not only is it overly expensive, it is not Korean-style. I'd be embarassed to bring anyone here. No thanks. One time is enough for me.

Uhh not worth the price. Service was so-so. I felt like I was in a sanitized version of a Korean restaurant. My bf was still hungry after eating. This is not Korean-style bbq so says my bf--for that, go to Koreatown. Meat portions are stingy and tiny as is the seafood ones. Bleh.
