I work about 2 blocks from the place and used to end-up there during the lunch rush for call ahead take-out. After my 4th visit of being treated INCREDIBLY RUDELY- I swore off ever going back. I could just give somebody 15 bucks to slap me in the face whenever I want a rice bowl... about the same thing.

Cheap food, hence underpaid, overworked serve staff who are really very rude due ti their frustrations and completely inattentive. The manager is the epitome of people who should not be manager, if they have no interpersonal skills. Overall if you like to be treated poorly while eating cheap and soggy food, that is the food for you. DIsappointing is the code word for the gingergrass.

Greeters at the door lost our reservation and treated us like we were criminals, we had to wait 26 minutes where there were two seperate tables which were kept empty for no show reservations when we asked to merge them for three of us we were scolded. Food is really not good and at best it feels like take out food next day. When we tried to talk to the manager regarding our experience, boy did we get an education in manners. Thanks but no thanks it is really bad experience

First of all, the wait staff (at least ours the other night) sucks. We sat down & were ignored for at least 5 minutes. Finally the busboy brought water. Ignored another 5 minutes, I mean we felt like we were invisible! Waiter comes, we order a bottle of wine. Yes, we sit for a looooooooong time & have to ask if he can please bring the bottle (he was too busy chatting w/ another customer). My husband's curry was yummy. My shrimp was skimpy & just OK. I won't go back.

Not authentic Vietnamese. Overpriced.

cute restaurant but way over priced for what it is. you can get the exact same food, even better actually, at any one of the dozens of Vietnamese restaurants that line Valley blvd in San Gabriel. so unless you live nearby, i'd highly recommend driving just a tad bit more east for the real deal.

I was impressed with Gingergrass. The interior was low key hip modern, which was a pleasant change from your typical "local" restaurant. We ordered 3 different dishes. I found the food to be quite good - flavorful with interesting combinations of taste. The one exception was the "Pho". It was bland compared with the other dishes. I definitely intend to go back.
