Bibi's Warmstone Bakery and Café
Reader reviews: Write a review | Read other reviews The aroma can drive you crazy. In a stone oven, Middle Eastern Bibi's bakes sambusak (Israeli-style calzone) and stuffed, sesame-encrusted pitas called toasties. Fillings run from feta with olives to mozzarella with marinara or grilled eggplant. This West L.A. bakery and café also makes great individual quiches, marvelous pizzas and Jerusalem bagels, the thin, savory circles sold by vendors outside the ancient city's walls.

J.E.F. Los Angeles, CATypical Israeli service, but the best, most authentic Israeli bakery in town. The feta-toastees are amazing, as are individual pizzas, Jerusalem bagels and the homemade salad dressing. Don't miss the challah--those in the know know that it's the best in town. Sweet, light, perfect. In the winter, sufganiot (jelly donuts) are amazing, and they're jam cookies, available weekly, are decadent. What could be better than a Sambusak and a Coke (or mango juice)? Mmmmmm. January 24, 2008
S. Heller Los Angeles, CAThe food is served on cheap paper plates. The napkins are minuscule. The chairs are worn through. The food is interesting at best, but one would have to sample more of the menu to judge the overall quality. Not worth a second visit. Write a review | Read more reviews Venue Details
