Genesis Santa monica, CAExcellent food at good prices. Obviously many regulars came in as the owner came out to greet friends and lots of inter-table chatting going on. Burger's very good--better than Micheal's or Beach 62 and priced better, too. February 12, 2007
Gretchen Marina Del Rey, CAA sweet little spot. Dark enough to be private though noisier early on. Definitely quieter as the evening grew. Service was very attentive. A menu of both familiar and eclectic dishes like a tasting menu that was reasonably priced. The wine list also was fine for a small restaurant. January 29, 2007
Simon West Hollywood, CAI first went here for lunch when a co-worker who lives in W. LA suggested it and was impressed enough to come back for dinner this past weekend with my boyfriend. We were both very satishfied and wish there were more restaurants like this in LA: the owner was our waiter, and he made everything seem so easy. We had five dishes and were very much happy with each one. January 18, 2007
aaron venice, caRecommend this small plates gem to all of your friends. I have worked in many restaurants over the years and the food at this one is spectacular. Cinnamon granita over ahi tartare and lamb meatballs in an bowl of their own juices were amazing and somewhat adventureous. Food was served piping hot and the 7 before 7 menu a steal. Let's all welcome Violet to the neighborhood. June 26, 2006
Lynn H Los Angeles, CAThis is absolutely one of my favorite places to dine. The small-plate dishes are creative but still comfort food---I personally recommend the mac n' cheese and the house-cured salmon. Also, the chef is one of the sweetest in the city; last time I dined there, he came out to thank me for coming and also gave me a free plate of cookies and milk! June 23, 2006
ebuckley los angeles , CAThis hottie chef really knows how to please all with out breaking the bank. Violet's Californian casual fare is offered is small plate fashion -which is a fun way to dine as a couple or with friends! I highly recommend! Return to Violet venue details
