After a faltering start, the kitchen at this new Spark recaptured its mojo once Fredy Escobar, former chef at Alto Palato, took over the stoves. He's added some old Alto Palato dishes to the more generic Cal-Mediterranean menu.

We have driven past Spark on Pico a dozen times, so last night we finally decided to go. What a find! The walls are a gorgeous orange and the booths are so comfortable. I had a caesar salad and a filet mignon - yum! My date had mesquite grilled salmon that was excellent as well. But, the best part was this crazy Martini they made us that tasted like fresh blackberries. We had a great time and I can't wait to bring back friends to show off our latest discovery.
