A no-frills neighborhood bar that's been around since the 30s and has the vintage glass brick and "hot nuts" machine to prove it. Lately you can get really good food from Shillelagh the new cafe next door (there's a communicating door), which has a special bar grub menu as and serves breakfast till 4 p.m. and also has some very tasty contemporary sandwiches, homemade soups and even fresh pizzas.
