Avoid at all costs. A horrible waste of time and money. The food was overpriced and tasted like cardboard. the service was poor.

Terrible .. even gave it a second chance and still same bad service and very average food for the $$$$... go to Morton's ... better food, excellent service and free valet and it is actually real valet.

hated it. ways overprized. don't go unless you're 70 or older and don't care so much about food but the martini that comes with it

Feeling a little down having a bad day in the afternoon, try the Pac Dining Car's afternoon Tea. This makes the day more bearable. If you linger long enough, you can try their yummy Happy Hour appetizers. Great money saver while you visit a LA historic haunt. Roxanne

Hated it! Stinks. If you're under 70 they give you tons of attitude. Besides that the portions are a joke, considering the outrageous pricing. Never ever. There are better options if you want to spend big bucks on a fine meal

wow! what else can I say...this place has it all, from class, comfort, cozziness, elegance, tradition, service and of course, da food! brought my baby (now my wife, but better) to this place on our first date, and let me tell you, i felt like i was the only one being served! she was impressed and the gin and tonics closed the deal! highly recommended!

First after taking out a small loan to eat there the food was good, but not spectacular. The service was that of a Denny's staff. The waiter did not offer any recommendations, no greeting, no follow up on our meal, and we had to bag our food to go. If one is going to pay out $100 per person to eat there you would expect a certain level of service, they fall short of that level of expectation. This place maybe great for breakfast but not dinner.

Dinner is very good, but WAY overpriced. Hear breakfast is better value and good, too.

It was 10:30pm and most places were closed. The last time I ate at the Pacific Dining Car (downtown) was 20 years ago and, as I recall, it was pretty good. This time, however, I was disappointed by the really over-priced, really mediocre food. The Caesar, the scalloped potatoes, the $42.00 New York were really pathetic. With all the great steakhouses in LA now, the Pacific Car should turn off its grill for good. Do yourself a favor, Pal. Don't waste your money.
