El Chavo
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Sat.-Sun., 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Readers' rating: Reader reviews: Write a review If Stanley Kubrick ever dreamed of opening a Mexican restaurant, he telepathically communicated those dreams to the owners of El Chavo. A colorful and bizarre Mexican restaurant, El Chavo is perfect for a before-the-bar meal or post-movie cocktail. Step down into its den and find yourself in a windowless time warp -- a place where neon lights and metal sculptures meet but do not marry. If you find the decor gaudy or overstimulating (it is), you can always close your eyes. Then you can open your ears (for the music) and open your mouth (for the margarita).
