Insomnia Cafe
Hours: Daily, noon-2 a.m. Readers' rating: Reader reviews: Write a review | Read other reviews ![]() Ed Batt The relaxed atmosphere of Insomnia defies the double espressos and thick cappuccinos that they serve regularly. The high ceilings and comfortable overstuffed chairs and couches give Insomnia a feel of some great study or library; you almost wish there was a fire that needed stoking. With seating both indoors and out in the front, Insomnia has its own subculture of students, writers, actors/actresses, artists and just about anyone who needs to take a brief break from their otherwise hectic day. A variety of desserts are available as well as Italian syrup cold drinks. The brush or pencil artwork on the walls changes regularly and is usually done by a talented Insomnia customer.

Chris and Diana Konwin Laguna Beach, CAWe had our first date here, and it was a wonderful place to sit, relax, have a great, great cup of joe and listen to my future husband read poetry to me without feeling like we would be rushed out. It's a great little hang out for being with friends or alone. And after all these years, when we're in the area, we stop here and still enjoy the coffee. Try this place!
