My first and last visit to this restaurant. Our party had 6 entrees, 2 were good (burger and Baby Back ribs), 1 was okay (roast chicken) , the other three were tasteless or worse. The fish and chips were bland, the meat loaf rubbery and flavorless, and the flat iron steak -- well, you can get a tastier steak at Sizzler. Good onion rings, very good artichoke appetizer, mediocre caesar salad. I even asked for help ordering, and the waitress said everything was good. NOT! It's noisy too.

Love the food but sad that David is gone - he gave the place a hip, personal vibe - the new maitre d's are way too stuffy. The short-haired little bartenderess has no personality and a little too serious. BRING BACK DAVID and HIRE ANOTHER BARTENDER!

I can't remember the last time I was served a margarita with the salt dripping down the sides of the glass. I odered the special fish sole with roasted vegetables and sauteed baby spinach. The vegetables were limp, not having any carmelized flavor that a truly roasted vegetable would have. And the baby spinach was not baby otherwise it would not need chopping and be served with large stems in it. I would rather spend a few more dollars and have an excellent dining experience at Michael's.

The food is way too salty from time to time, the restaurant is way too dark and the service is going downhill. I also recommend not to use the mens room after all the toilet doesn't flush half the time.

How can one beloved neighborhood restaurant go downhill so quickly? Is it that the legendary "David" is no longer there? All I know is that the food, service, music and general hospitality which David brought to this restaurant is now gone. Wow! What a difference! Very sad:(

Finally! I found a place in LA, which eases the home sickness I feel living bi-coastal. This place in New York through and through. Dark, Safe, Powerful Drinks! The wonderful food takes me back, the servers are engaging, the music had me playing air guitar at the table. David the Maitre D' and "Sober Sommelier" declined my offer to buy a booth, gave me one anyhow, and bought me amazing fries after I had to wait for my table. This place is a wish come true.

Been going to this place about 4 years. Feels like a New York chop house. Owned by Bruce Marder (Capo) Steve Wallace (Wally's) and Richard Drapkin (Grace), a pretty good pedigree. Maitre' D David makes everyone feel like family. The steaks are good but the macaroni and cheese is sublime. More celebrity sightings at this place than the Grill on the Alley or Spago.

Dark and comfy hangout for the Westside's rich and powerful. Amazing comfort food, strong honest drinks, sexy singles on blind dates, stunning art on the walls, attentive service and best soups I have ever eaten at any restaurant. Ask the Maitre D', David, for a wine suggestion just to see what magical bottles appears from his secret cellar. Everytime I dine at the Brentwood Bar & Grill, I am welcomed home by David, I order the Maui Onion Rings, a bowl of soup and pan roasted Filet of Sole. Mmm

There is nothing better in life than eating The Brentwood's Filet Mignon Tacos, while drinking one of David's wine selections and listening to Bob Marley sing "No Woman, No Cry", followed by the scrumptous Chocolate Bread Pudding as Led Zeppilin starts playing. Where else can you go to feast on Kobe Beef Burgers, Mac & Cheese and Homemade Foie Gras at 11:30 at night. This place keeps getting better and better. Bruce Marder has the Midas Touch!

I love The Brentwood. It is the perfect combination of good food, good drink, a terrific ambiance & great maitre'd. Is there anyone in Brentwood who doesn't know David?
What ever I am in the mood to eat, The Brentwood seems to offer it. One night I might have a well-chilled martini and a chopped salad, another night I might opt for a thick, juicy steak with amazing fries and a carefully selected wine by the maitre'd. There's a reason the place is always packed
