Emerald Thai Restaurant
Larisa Dolgova

When you're craving Thai, nothing else will do. And Emerald Thai's the place to satisfy your taste buds. Try their tom kar gai, a Thai chicken soup for the soul with chile, lemon grass, lime juice and coconut milk. It might just have you up at 3 a.m. counting the hours until you can go back for more. The green curry and pad Thai are also delicious. For the most part, Emerald offers standard Thai fare, but there's something special about it that truly tastes homemade. The decor is down home, comfy, and the service is excellent. It's inexpensive and always crowded, which shows that this place is certainly a favorite among both the UCLA students who live in the area and Sony's studio execs. -- Elisabeth A. Belile

I totally agree with the other ratings. I have searched far and in between for the Spicy Chicken Soup and theirs is the best by far. Excellent service and overall great quality food. 10 plus.

I agree with all of the positive comments of the other reviewers. The staff is great and the service is fast. I've been to lots of Thai places, including Natalee Thai, and the food at Emerald Thai is the best. I have never had to wait for long. They also do take-out, which they wrap in shrink wrap so it doesn't spill. This is not a super-trendy spot, but it's the place to go if you want great food. I recently moved to Lawndale but still come once a month!

Best Thai in the city bar none, pass on Natalie Thai and stop here, you'll save 20 bucks and have WAAAAYYYY better food! Plus the waiters will treat you like the family you always wished you had!
