The Rocky Cola Cafe is a blast of the past with a modern twist. Ready to rock 'n' roll back to the fun-lovin' '50s? A jukebox flips 45s, and you can make your selection from the minijukes on the tables. Shiny black and red tiles line the walls, and red vinyl booths cover the offbeat orange-and-white checkered floor.

From breakfast to dinner, the eats are both all-American (buttermilk pancakes and Rocky dogs) and international (South of the Border omelet and pasta primavera). The fountains flow with black, brown and orange cows, chocolate sodas and old-fashioned shakes and malts. Juicy burgers, fries and banana splits are readily served, but don't count yourself out if you have an aversion to the indulgences of the past. The café has a fitness menu with tasty treats like honey banana pancakes and vegetarian burritos fully equipped with fat, protein and calorie counts.

As a result, I never got to ask that our beverages be served with the meal, to replace my knife due to food stuck on it or ask for a glass of water. We felt rushed, ignored & had no chance for any verbal exchange with the server. Next time, I'll pass on RCC and go to Eat at Joe's instead. Perhaps this restaurant will renew my faith in a great breakfast!

Started with my server who was a mature, brunette haired women, that greeted me and my guest with, instead of a hello, "you ready to order? Need more time?". The most frustrating part was whenever she would come to our table to see if "all okay?", she'd rush away so quickly that we couldn't get out more than a couple of words. She'd leave our beverage, then meal & rush away. After several attempts to reply to her question of "all okay?" we eventually gave up.

Was in the area Sat a.m. so I took a friend up on his recommendation to stop at Eat at Joe's for breakfast. On the way, I saw the Rocky Cola Cafe & decided to stop in. Unfortunately, this simple meal was very stressful..... (to be continued)
