This landmark piece of roadside pop art has appeared in countless movies and TV shows.
Probably one of L.A.'s most famous restaurants (though not by name), this landmark piece of roadside pop art has appeared in countless movies and TV shows. You know the one -- it's a take-out stand in the shape of a hot dog (actually, a 17-foot-long stucco-covered wiener)! In 1987, this protected "cultural landmark" was spared the wrecking ball and actually moved a block from its original location to make way for construction of the Hotel Sofitel.

And what about the dogs? Well, they're not bad, not bad at all. Try the Manhattan (sauerkraut, mustard and onions) or the Boston Celtic (baked beans, mustard and onions). The menu also offers burgers, a steak sandwich, onion rings and chili. Bottom line: The dogs here might not rival Pink's, but if you call yourself an Angeleno, you better have been to both. Meal for two: $10.
