This is what rock 'n' roll would taste like.

Popular food: Many variations of burgers and omelettes, blue plate specials, pancakes (buttermilk, blueberry, chocolate chip, or banana walnut), strawberry cheesecake.

Unique food: Sweet potato pancakes on Sat.-Sun., breakfast burger (jack cheese, bacon strips and fried egg sunny side up), stuffed French toast with cream cheese and strawberries.

Drinks: Thirty-one different milk shakes (including the peanut butter and banana Elvis Shake), ice cream sodas, fresh squeezed orange juice, beer, wine.

Seating: Booths; 16 seats at counter.

Ambience: Busy neighborhood diner; twenty- and thirtysomething Westsiders.

Extras/Notes: Cafe 50's memorabilia for sale: fuzzy dice, yo-yos, 1950s sci-fi books. Daily specials, such as the last Wednesday of month is Wacky Wednesday -- wear your jammies and eat for free 6-10 p.m.
