Say it POO-KET please, don't ask us why.
Popular food: Order the tom kah kai (coconut milk soup) and the pad thao nam man hoi (sautéed green beans and tofu), spicy seafood, pad Thai.
Unique Food: Try their daily specials.
Drinks: Thai iced tea and coffee, beer, soft drinks, tea.
Seating: Booths and tables for 40; expect to wait on weekend nights.
Ambience: Locals and Second Street tourists.
Extras/Notes: Say "Poo-Ket," at least in front of the wait staff! This little gem is located in the heart of Belmont Shore's famous Second Street -- easily the best, most affordable Thai restaurant on the Shore. Though their menu is not as extensive or creative as Dear Heart's in Rose Park and is more mainstream, there is usually a line on weekend nights, and it's well worth the wait. Hit Phuket by 8 p.m. and be sure to order Thai iced tea to rev you up for the evening ahead. Then start your Second Street shuffle to any of the local hot spots by 9 p.m.
Parking: Metered street.
