Chapter Eight's Kobe beef burger is big and satisfying.

In this setting, you'd expect the food to be beside the point, but Chapter Eight's chef, Eddy Shin (formerly of Nick & Stef's steakhouse downtown), has some interesting ideas. He approaches the steakhouse menu with such a measure of creativity and earnestness that you really want to like everything. In fact, his simplest dishes work best.

I think your service was okay, the food was not that great and the waiters could be somewhat nice.

my rib eye was perfectly cooked with an awesome blue cheese suase. the locked and loaded mash is unreal. creamed corn is a must have and the heirloom salad is great. kobe burger was good. the service was professional and our waiter was also the person who put the wine list together. he was possibly the sommelier as well? the decor is unreal and the dance lounge got going once we were finished with dinner at 10:30. the palce was packed and people watching was fabulous.

Ambience Over-the-top Palm Springs meets Las Vegas mock glam decor. Thursday through Saturday nights, the dance lounge, which spills out onto an inviting small patio with a fire pit, is a vibrant scene. The main dining room is energized by the wacky design.
Best dishes Kobe burger; "naked" domestic Kobe rib-eye; dry-aged Kansas City strip loin; oven-roasted garlic mashed potatoes; gratinée with aged cheddar cheese.
Best table A semicircular booth facing the bar in the main dining room or a cabana on the patio.
Night Life Lounge , Dance Club , Bars , Food Served , Outdoor Patio
Of Note Full bar. Spirits are also available by the bottle ($285 for Grey Goose; $450 for Johnny Walker Blue). Valet parking, $4.
Payment American Express , MasterCard , Visa
Prices Appetizers, $7-$18; main courses, $18-$48; sides, $7; desserts, $6-$15.
Service Friendly and professional.
Wine list California-heavy, unexciting and pricey. Corkage, $15.
