The Smoke House is like an old country club-club house and is meant to be. It is a grand tradition where movie studio deals were genuinely made, yet lacks any aloof feel. It is a place of comfy wood and leatherette banquettes, bespeaking its 1940s birthright. Its bar is dark with dimly-atmospheric lighting.

Food was very good but pricey. However, the band was HOT!! On the night that I went there, it was a hot disco/R&B band called Higher Ground. Three guys and a chick on the drums and they sounded just like the record. Kept me at the bar until 12:30 AM. Forget the food...head for the bar on Saturday nights when these guys play and you won't be disappointed. A few drinks, a loaf of the garlic cheese bread and you will think that you died and went to heaven

Still the greatest after all these years. Ask for the Steak Sinatra or the Seafood Trio and you'll never be disappointed.

A Classic! I could eat the 'garlic bread' all night.

Cuisine American
Best dishes Full menu, moderately pricey. The comfortable scents of the steak and their famous garlic bread are pervasive.
Drink picks Negronis, Martinis, and the classics reign at the Smokehouse. Befitting its age and legendary status, drinks are served old club-style with a good bit in your small glass and the balance in a small hoddle on ice at your table or barside.
Night Life Bars , Live Music , Food Served , Outdoor Patio
Of Note Small cabaret-style acts sing in the bar at piano. Go there with a studio exec. Or their spouse. Happy hour Mon-Fri 4 p.m-7 p.m.
