Everyone I've ever taken to Lake Spring Shanghai in Monterey Park has gone back on their own. That's saying something when there are hundreds of Chinese restaurants competing for attention. This small restaurant features the cooking of Shanghai, with wonderful Shanghai-style dumplings, sheets of tofu braised to resemble goose, and a slew of other appetizers. The pièce de résistance is pork "pump" -- a pork leg cooked slowly in Chinese plum sauce until it's so tender the waiter can cut through it with a spoon.

I never eat such a terriable food before, and the service is even wrost than the triditional Chinese service. If I have another chance, I won't step in this restaurant in the rest of my life. Really regard that i went there once!

xia ping is a liar. i am the owner of this restuarant and have never had a rodent or an insect problem , as an american owner of a traditional chinese restaurant i can and only offer the freshest food in the cleanest of restaurants. also please consider the fact that xiao ping no longer works here because she could not adhere to company policies. thank you.

I went to eat at this restaurant and saw a rat on the floor. I did not eat the food.
