Ballerina Clown
The Ballerina Clown is an unusual landmark on Main Street in Venice
Jerome Adamstein/Los Angeles Times

Nothing makes your day like having a giant clown in a tutu stare down at you when driving on Main Street in Venice. The landmark many residents love to hate this 34-foot-high sculpture located on the southeast corner of the Venice Renaissance Building is just a slight hint at the area's kitschy personality. Designed by artist Jonathan Borofsky, the half-sad clown face, half-ballerina just may be the city's biggest wallflower. Wanna dance? -- Kastle
