"I am facing west and slightly south. What I wanted to do in this photograph was show the shape and the form of the hall as it's affected by the sun. This was taken in the early morning. There's a hot spot in the lower right-hand side. Your eye can see the detail of the building but the lens can't. I wanted to show people the beauty of what light can do, how it demands, 'Look at me; now move; look at me again.' It is such a marvelous feeling, like frozen music."
