Dorothy Spirus catches and then runs with her observations on the human CON-dition and we get to laugh, knowingly.

A drive to Long Beach from Santa Monica on a Friday night is not my idea of a good time, but  Dorothy Spirus’ colorful performances in Children of a Lesser Goddess made the trip more than worth my while.  This is one entertaining show - chock full, funny and refreshing!  Ahh, it feels so good to laugh.

Dorothy Spirus's one woman show at the Found Theater in Long Beach is a great night out, with characters ridiculous, touching, hysterical and heartbreaking. The goddess has a lesser child for everyone, from the yoga instructor who won't shut up while you're trying to relax to the soccer mom who hides everything behind her smile. There's the woman you know who never met a craft over which she couldn't obsess. Scrapbooking or macrame' anyone? Juggernaut lives in the aging rock star. And there are more of the goddesses' friends to meet. Dorothy embodies the soul of each of these characters, while bracketing them with the all knowing comments of the goddess. You'll absolutely laugh and you just might tear up when you meet these children of a lesser goddess.
