Monterey Park is well-known as a center for Chinese cooking, with more than 100 Chinese restaurants to prove it. From tiny Mandarin noodle houses to lavish Hong Kong-style seafood restaurants, much of the small city's identity is based on its wealth of such dining opportunities. Luminarias, however, is a reminder that the community has a strong Mexican-American tradition, as well. This large restaurant and banquet facility draws wedding receptions, parties, birthday celebrations and innumerable civic functions from Monterey Park and neighboring communities.
The sprawling, festive restaurant with a decor vaguely reminiscent of a Spanish hacienda finds enthusiastic patrons enjoying enchiladas, chicken in
mole, fajitas, steaks, shrimp
diablo and a variety of other Mexican or Continental favorites. A large buffet lunch is served daily. Sunday brunch features Champagne and a variety of Mexican, American and seafood dishes. Children's rates are available.

YOU'LL BE SORRY if you use Luminarias Banquet facilities.
When you spend thousands of dollars to provide a good time for your guests the least you can expect is to get the food that you have paid for and receive competent, courteous attention.
Our family has held 4 large events here over last 10 yrs and all I can say is that because of the rude, careless, unattentive and most importantly , dishonest behavior of Luminarias Catering Dept Staff at our last event, WE WILL NOT RETURN.
