CLUB BUZZ
Downtown, where everything's happening
The team behind The Golden Gopher and Broadway Bar hear an Echo downtown.

Downtown getting an uptown feel
Now here's a match made in clubland heaven.
Cedd Moses and
Mitchell Frank are teaming up to open a live music venue in 2007. Although they're still scoping out locations, here's why it's such good news: Moses, who brought us such fabulous and artistic watering holes as Liquid Kitty, Golden Gopher and Broadway Bar, is a big part of the drive to revitalize downtown. And Frank is the guy who put the Eastside on the map. His Spaceland and Echo nightclubs attract worldwide talent, not because they're state-of-the-art music facilities (to be sure, he takes funky dives and leaves them funky) but because he and his crew get first-rate talent.
The duo plan to build a most excellent club, but don't worry, they're not going Hollywood. They're keeping it real and looking at downtown venues.
In more exciting downtown news, restaurateur
Fred Eric's new
Tiara Café is throwing a ballroom blitz hosted by Designers & Agents Friday night titled the "Feast Fantasy Ball." Eric, who teamed up with
Don and
Andy Camacho to create the new downtown restaurant and fresh food marketplace, is planning to open Tiara to the public on April 3.
