Wendy Bishop Camarillo, CAI attended a pre-release screening of 'Hounddog' with our Women In Film group, and was deeply touched and moved by this impressive film. Director Kampmeier successfully exposes a raw and dark reality that all wish were untrue, many want to hide, but most must endure. Audience reaction was unanimous and affected by this insightful and multi-faceted portrait of conflicted characters struggling against challenging circumstances. Our post-screening discussion turned into a debate of sorts, with no consensus as to which performer was more deserving of an Oscar nod: Dakota Fanning's complex and innocent adventurer, Piper Laurie's dogmatically judgmental Grandmother role, or Robin Wright Penn's loving but abused character. Women will especlally love 'Hounddog." Return to Hounddog details
