Fire your staff... they suck. I must have been wearing my invisible cloak - borderline hostile, too.

This place doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a loud bar catering to 20-somethings? Then why does the staff recommend $50-60 bottles of wine? Is it an upscale wine bar? Then why the poor service, mediocre food and sterile setting? Rather than offering something for everyone, BottleRock should focus on one thing and do it well. There are lots of other wine bars in LA now that are much better than this place.

totally unimpressed. The food was unimaginative and bland, but that's OK I guess because it is a wine bar--that's right, a WINE bar, which to me means, their specialty is WINE. My server, although attractive and nice knew absolutely NOTHING about wine--not even the basics. My wine arrived in a warm glass and tasted "cooked". I am not sure what they are going for here. They call themselves a wine bar, but the staff knows nothing about their specialty: WINE.

Service was pretty slow and the atmosphere was so-so, but you can't beat the variety of wine and the friendly priced small plates!

Mike Greenwald is a complete snob if he's so quick to dismiss another reviewer simply because of where they live. I have to agree that Bottle Rock was below average in both service and quality. It felt like a liquor store.

I think that harvey Chou of Los Alamitos, CA... must have awoke on the wrong side of the bed. This place is great, and the service friendly and knowledgeable about their selection. Isn't Los Alamitos where the "Erin Brokovich" water scandal was?

This was a horrible experience. While the wine was good, the service was horrible. They were rude and acted like they were doing you a favor throughout the whole experience. It made everything taste bad.

Jody Culver City,

The place is really great. The wines & beers are unique and delicious and the food is scrumptous. I would recommend it to anyone!
