The Toledo Show

Unbelievable show. I've seen it twice, and both times, it was more of an experience than just a show. While Toledo took a dance break (crazy moves in a zoot suit - you have to see it to believe it), Malik jumped up on a table right in front of us, singing his soul out. Got the whole place jumpin! And oh, the dames...!

This is a great band to watch!I saw them perform at Casino Morongo and I must say I had a blast!Their performance took me back to the past to the time of overdone hairdos and spandex pants.Let's not forget to mention how great they played-it is definitely a show worth watching.I assure you that you will have a great time.

My friend and I heard them playing at Busters on a Sunday night and I must say that these gentlemen are awesome!

Joe Vento Big Band Jazz All-Stars

Joe Vento's Wednesday show rocks... if that's the right word for an 18-piece band playing "Li'l Darling" and "In the Mood". The crowd ranged in age from couples who probably actually danced to Dorsey and Miller's bands to twentysomethings who just stopped in for a drink and stayed for the performance. The all-star musicians are all-volunteer-- a mix of session players, students, even an investment banker, who show up every week out of love for this musical form. Vento (who must be close to eighty) has the energy and enthusiasm of an eighteen year old. He's a charming and funny host who keeps the set bouncing for nearly two hours, Go see this show!

After waiting many years to see a production Der Zwerg/The Dwarf, this is the opera event of the season, not only for LA but on an international caliber. This incredible production brings all the elements of music, drama, and scenic art to the pinnacle of perfection. THIS IS WHAT OPERA IS ALL ABOUT! Bravo Maestro Conlon for giving Los Angeles this special moment in American opera history. People will be talking about this production for a long time to come.

I couldn't disagree more with the LA Times review. In particular, I thought Mimi and Rodolfo were not only believable as lovers at first sight but had stunning voices.
