The Brentwood Theatre is located on the Veteran's Administration campus and is operated by RICHMARK Entertainment. Originally built in 1942 as an entertainment center for veterans, the Brentwood Theatre was designed as a functional theater and to serve as a shelter -- as evidenced by the existing air raid siren on the roof of the building. In the 1940s, the theatre accommodated USO shows, lectures, various veteran activities and movie screenings. In 2004, the Wadsworth Theatre Management team, led by Richard Willis, renovated the facility for use as a legitimate theater. Currently being restored to its full glory, the renovation team for this beautiful venue sensitively maintained the integrity and charm of the historic building. The original tile, doors, door hardware, windows, interior and exterior sconces, stage floor and many other features have been restored to
their original luster. It will now be a home to theatre, with many of the attractions coming from and going to New York, and other performing arts.
