D.O. Volo Oceanside, CaThe case has been brought against Agatha Chrisie that she introduces clues and characters in the last act of her stories that make her crimes impossible to solve. This may be true at times but in the current production of "Appointment With Death" at the West Valley Playhouse in Canoga Park you have the feeling that you have seen everything you need to solve the puzzle. Even though looking back I think we were tricked into thinking we have. Very fine performances by all the performers. Heidi Brucker and her counterpart Tom Starko as the yourg English Doctor and her more famous French Doctor mentor turn in very strong characterizations. Although Brucker at times was a little hard to hear. Closes Sunday Feb. 26. February 21, 2006
D.O. Volo Oceanside, Ca"Appointment With Death" now playing at the West Valley Playhouse in Canoga Park under the direction of Jon Berry is a mystery lovers dream. The location starting at the King Solomon Hotel in Jerusalem and moving to the "Rose Red " Mountains of Petra ( Set design by Charles Hall) is a sight to behold. With a cast of fifteen it is hard to mention everyone . From the evil Mrs. Boynton played by the amazing Nancy Solomons to Stephanie Mittel as the youngest child of a very odd American family which includes Elaine O'B. Capogeannis, Skip Pipo, Patrick Rogers as the siblings who all have a motive for murder. Comedy relief is provided by Sharon Cohen as the pompus "high up lady", Bill Bryan as the Dragoman, and Michael Bayouth as an Lanchasterman although with his accent I wasn't sure where he was really from. Bob Van Dusen turns in a solid performance as Col. Carbery. Write a review | Read more reviews Current, Upcoming
