Youthful playwright Itamar Moses shows a precocious mastery of the classical form in his historically based comedy drama, which fictionalizes the internecine struggles of several ambitious composers all vying for the position of Leipzig's organ master in 1722. Deft, witty and multilayered, Moses' wonderful play receives an optimum production from director Art Manke and a dream cast.
