Andy Rainey Hollywood, CATo be completely honest, I had a blast. I wouldn't be surprised if this continues to run and run. It makes Avenue Q look like a G-Rated show (and most of the time in a good way). The best/catchiest song was also the one of the most offensive where an extremely talented Donald Webber Jr. plays a 14 year old black virgin and sings "It Don't Count If It's Daddy." Invasion is totally gripping and entertaining. Be warned, it's not for everyone... especially the kiddies. August 29, 2007
Kendall James Los Angeles, CABad taste never tasted so good! This is simply a wonderful show, wearing its satire lightly, while good-naturedly poking fun at everything and everyone in sight. Brimming with infectious melodies and delightful lyrics, the score juggles wistful yearning ballads (at least 4 by my count) with outrageously over-the-top production numbers. Take warning: if you are easily offended or have no sense of humor, this show is not for you. Otherwise, it's a must-see! August 28, 2007
Steven Stanley Alhambra, CANever before has a musical comedy been so devoid of taste and full of absolutely filthy language. I enjoyed it a lot! It’s raunchy, nasty, and a whole lot of fun! Composer/musical director Billy Thompson’s tunes are melodious, catchy, hummable. Standouts in the cast include the delicious Kate Feld, cute and lanky Cory Bretsch, Nicole Gemma and Whitney Vigil as Shasta and Boquicia, dragalcious Donald Webber, Jr., big and burly Will Harris, Emily Pennington as Spencer, cutie Al Rahn, and Men's Fitness ready Ben Giroux The charismatic writer/director Aaron Matijasic is very funny as Dr. Wells, If you like having fun and throwing good taste to the wind, then Invasion! The Musical is definitely for you, and (when not gasping “I can’t believe they just said that!”) you’re sure to laugh your pants off. Read my complete review at www.LAStageScene.com. August 25, 2007
Niles H. Sherman Oaks, CAI didn't think anyone in Los Angeles had the daring to put a show like this up, but I'm happy to see that someone is doing it. I haven't seen true, unabashed satire like this for a long time. Raunchy, scandalous, offensive, and absolutely hilarious. I laughed non-stop for two and a half hours. But be warned: this play is not for the faint of heart! But if you're looking for theater that redefines "pushing the limit," Invasion! is what you're looking for. Keep it up! August 20, 2007
Michael L. Huntington Beach, CAA politically incorrect fringe musical about a New Mexico town being invaded by penis-snatching aliens is actually quite funny with a score that ranges from functional to great. The young cast is uniformly talented. Direction and choreography are mostly spot-on. Quite a pleasant surprise! August 20, 2007
Tony A. Studio City, CAVery very funny and particularly bold for LA theatre. Hope to see more stuff like it in the future. August 20, 2007
Michael L. Huntington Beach, CAA very ambitious first effort by recent USC grads, this show is raunchily funny and well acted. This show could really go places (Edinburgh Festival even) with a more experienced director at the helm but the show is in fine shape for a 99 seat LA theatre. Return to Invasion! The Musical details
