Readers' rating: Reader reviews: Write a review | Read more reviews In The Theatre @ Boston Court's all-female (and rather uneven) take on "Othello," a co-production with the Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company, Iago actually deserves title-character status. Director Lisa Wolpe saves her most interesting interpretation for the Moor's diabolic ensign, a role she performs so naturally that you're hardly aware of any cross-dressing trickery.

Steven South Pasadena, I was skeptical before going, but this turned out to be a superb production, well acted and nicely staged. This "Othello" was of the same outstanding quality that we've come to expect of most everything done at the Boston Court. Highly recommended! March 5, 2008
Darlene Pasadena, CAI was actually pleasantly surprised by this production. I thought Fran Bennett in the title role of Othello was awesome. To see these women pull of playing men without pretending and putting on the persona of men was absolutely fascinating. It's a long play, but you'll be caught in it from beginning to end.
