Readers' rating: Unrated Reader reviews: Write a review Set in the Catskills in 1960, Richard Greenberg's somber 1990 comedy focuses on a couple of outsiders making a stab at love in morally compromised circumstances redolent of Henry James' "Washington Square." It's a romantic drama of intrigue (engineered in part by a control-freak parent), with unexpected twists that unsettle not just the characters but the audience too.
