Founded in 1965 by a group of actors who banded together in one of the member's homes for play readings, the membership company took up residence at Beverly Hills High in 1974.

Award-winning designer Ming Cho Lee designed the elegant 99-seat space where audiences border the stage on three sides. It operates year-round and offers separate Monday-through-Wednesday and Thursday-through-Sunday subscription series.

Productions range from American and European classics to solo shows and new one-act festivals. The upholstered seats are well maintained and comfortable; legroom is especially good. There's a small refreshment table at intermission. Be forewarned, however, of the junior-size stalls in the restrooms -- this is a high school, after all. Parking is plentiful and free in a structure directly adjacent to the theater.
