Keck Theatre, Occidental College

The Keck may be one of the true gems of L.A. theater. Designed in the classic European opera house style with a sweeping, charming horseshoe balcony, the Keck has no bad seats and superb sight lines from even the furthest side balcony seats. It is frequently used for dance and music but it's a fine space for larger theater productions and is the indoor home for the annual Occidental summer theater festival. Were it not for the continuing difficult economics of producing in mid-size houses and for its out-of-the-way location, the Keck would be more heavily used for theater. But when a show is on, go for the venue alone.
