Readers' rating: Unrated Reader reviews: Write a review Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's evergreen musical about an extraterrestrial plant with a man-eating appetite agreeably closes Musical Theatre West's 56th season. Danny Gurwin and Lowe Taylor make adorable leads; the plant remains the star. If staging the compact show in a capacious venue suggests a hybrid nosegay in a giant terrarium, there's unpretentious fun afoot.
