Designed in the art deco style by architect Charles Lee, the Saban Theatre was originally named the Fox Wilshire when it opened in 1930. The then movie theater hosted gala events such as the premiere of "How To Marry A Millionaire" in 1953. Marilyn Monroe was among the luminaries who attended the screening, which also starred Lauren Bacall. Renovated in 1981, the house is now a stage venue hosting plays, concerts and religious services.
