I was unprepared for the impact this show would have on me and my entire family. I couldn’t imagine making the story of Rocky Dennis into a stage musical. I’m glad that I didn’t miss the opportunity to be completely amazed. Seeing this version of Rocky’s story made Cher even more redundant.
I could feel Rocky’s anticipation as Dozer told him about riding to Sturgis, in song. Time and again, I was directed and connected to the hearts and lives of real people, living the joys and tragedies of their lives, out loud and on purpose. Thank you.
I had the good fortune to be one of the bikers arriving together and parking in front of the theater on El Molino. Fellow audience members, and cast members, too, treated us like part of the show. We certainly felt that we were. With tears streaming, and thunderous applause, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of Mask.

I was lucky to see this two times and LOVED it. I would go again, if I did not live so far away. It is a wonderful story for anyone who ever wondered where they fit in. I felt such compassion for this boy who went through life with a more positive attitude than most people who have one tenth his physical disabilities. The music is inspirational and the highschoolers are a crack up. This is great entertainment that changes you into a better person when you walk out of the theater. Don't miss this, you'll be sorry if you do.

This was my first experience at a show. When I was invited and briefly described the contents of the show I wasn't excited. The moment the show started, I was impressed and stirred with emotion. The performers did a magnificant job in portraying the characters. Now I could say I look forward to attending more shows like this. I'm sure it won't be long before this show hits broadway.

I saw Mask at the rcommendation of my best friend who suggested I bring my 16 year old son. It was a deeply moving experience for both of us. My son is learning impaired, different and he identified with Rocky Dennis and his struggles in a very meaningful way. We laughed and cried and shared a very special evening. My thnks to Pasadena Playhouse.

mask was worth seeing at least twice. i saw the previews and again this weekend and something was definitely missing like some of the songs, a dissapointment to me because the music was fantastic, the actors and the songwriters were very talented. the scene where rocky's mom hired a lady of the street to visit her son which was pretty funny and then i realized that the girl who sang about erik estrada didn't do it the second time which was too bad because the song was snappy, but reading these reviews i guess that happens, but there were other songs in the second show that could have been left out. the program said she plays tina in tony n tine in vegas so i guess she'll have her day. Too bad because it was better the first time. don't get me wrong, it is still totally good. don't listen to the negativity and definitely see thw show!

Don't expect seeing cher on stage or Jim Carey (joke). Mask is totally something different. I loved the movie and was shocked to say the least that is was turned into a musical and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The cast took me in throughout the entire show. After reading the reviews, I had to see what the fuss was all about and I'm glad I went. Being a person of a different race living in US, you sometimes feel like an outcast but Mask shows you are unique and be proud of it! Go see it!

I agree with Shelley 100%. The critics have missed the boat this time. This show is absolutely fantastic. Michelle Duffy is awesome in her role as Rusty and my God what a voice. Allen Read is fascinating in his role as Rocky. I am so excited that I got to share in their ride. It was thrilling!

The show was unbelievable. The singing, music, acting, staging, and technical aspects were all outstanding. The story was truthful, inspiring, and compelling. 90% of the songs were marvelously melodic and I was taken with them. Someone else said this, but I must concur that shows like this are the reason why I love live theatre. Superb performances by all. This show is definitely worth the ticket price and everyone who likes musicals even a little bit should see it.

Saw this last night with my wife and we both loved it. We're still talking about it this morning. I hope that there will be a music cd of the songs, because they were magnificent. I had no idea that Mann and Weil were still composing! And the cast was fantastic, especially the leads. Michelle Duffy, if you read this, I think you are magnificent. I may actually be in love with you at this point. Saw you in Can-Can and you WERE the show. Kudos to Allen E. Read (Rocky), Greg Evigan (Gar), Michael Lanning (Dozer) (I'm checking back on my Trans-Siberian Orchestra cds, buddy!), the entire cast and orchestra. Shows like this are why I get so excited about live musical theater. Thanks for the experience.
