Lonny Chapman Group Repertory Theatre

Group Repertory has been in existence for 25 years, beginning in Hollywood, then moving to a unique space on Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood, and finally to its present home on Burbank Boulevard. Under the artistic direction of Lonnie Chapman, the Group has always had a varied menu of productions, from new plays and contemporary comedies to classics, modern classics and plays by Williams and Inge.

The Group concentrates on new plays originating in its writers' workshop, with "a few revivals sprinkled in," according to Chapman. The 99-seat space is accessible to the disabled, with a nicely raked auditorium and fine sight lines. Located in a North Hollywood business district, it has a roomy lobby and a small parking area next to the theater. When that is full, there is plenty of street parking after business hours on both nearby side streets.
