KCAL and KTTV Fox 11 led the pack Saturday night at the 57th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards. Each station won nine statuettes at the ceremony presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

KCAL's sister station, KCBS, won two top awards, including best daytime newscast for "CBS2 News" at 6 a.m. and best daily newscast under 35 minutes for "CBS2 News" at 11 p.m. The "Fox 11 News at Ten" won for best daily newscast over 35 minutes.

The Governors Award was presented to television personality and three-time Emmy Award winner Bob Eubanks.

An edited version of the show, hosted by Mariette Hartley and Fred Willard, will air at 3 p.m. Sept. 10 on KCAL9. Among the winners were:

Live Coverage of an Unscheduled News Event: "JPL Deadly Van Crash" — Fox11.

New Special: "Border Crossroads" — Fox11.

Sports Feature: "Coming to America" — FSN West.

Sports Series: "Angels in the Infield" — FSN West sports team.

Serious News Story — Single Report: "Shameful Harvest" — Channel 4 News at 11; "Zodiac Killer Case" — Fox11 10PM News.

Children/Youth Programming: "Heal the Bay Presents: H20) Heroes" — CBS2/KCAL9.

Arts and Culture/History: "The Miracles From Mexico" — Fox11.

Live Special Events: "Tournament of Roses Parade" — KTLA5.

Outstanding News Editor: James Hourani — NBC4.

Outstanding Non-News Editor: Spencer Willets — FSN West.

Outstanding Sports Reporting: Fred Roggin, reporter; Charlie Rosene, producer — NBC4; Lindsay Soto, reporter/producer — FSN West.

Investigative Reporting: "El Infierno de las Carceles en Eeuu" — KAZA; "Terror Connection" — Fox 11.

Outstanding News Feature Reporter: Renee Sams — KTLA5.

Outstanding Hard News Reporting: Claudia Botero — KMEX.
