Generally recognized as the last great urban train station in the United States, Union Station is a beautiful place to begin or end a journey.

If you're on your way to New Orleans on the Sunset Limited, to Seattle on the Coast Starlight, or just cruising the L.A. subway, you'll eventually find yourself in architectural splendor from 1939. The main hall is a unique California blend of Spanish and Art Deco, with a marble inlaid floor and a beautiful high-beamed ceiling.

It was memorialized in the film "Bladerunner," and it's the perfect place to relax and consult your maps with a drink from the bar at Traxx and a bagel from Union Bagel. Better yet, head across the street and a couple of blocks north to Phillipe's for the best French dip sandwiches on earth.
